We are committed to providing quality information and services to the scientific community. In order to do this, we need to know a little about you. What information do we collect? We collect the domain name, but not the e-mail address, of visitors to the Signaling Gateway, plus any additional information volunteered by our users, such as site registrations or survey information. We also collect aggregate and user-specific information on the pages that users visit. This information is used for internal review by us, to improve the content of the Signaling Gateway, to notify readers about updates to the website, to correspond with Molecule Page authors, and may occasionally be used by us to contact users for marketing purposes. The database is hosted by SDSC and shared with NPG but is not sold or traded with other organizations. CookiesWe use cookies to record session information and to track a user's path through the website. This enables us to respond more effectively to any problems and to offer a more personalised service. We also use cookies to deliver banner advertisements that are appropriate to each visitor, but these do not uniquely identify our visitors in any way. SearchBanner advertisements on the search results page may be matched to the search terms you entered. RegistrationWhen registering at the Signaling Gateway, we ask for information that identifies you. This includes your name and your postal and e-mail addresses. We also ask some questions about your work and fields of interest so that we can gain a clearer understanding of our users. We need your e-mail address in order to send you confirmation of your user identity and password. We also need full and accurate correspondence details for all Molecule Pages authors in order that we can communicate with them about their submissions. Information relating to your field of work, place of work, speciality and position may be used to tailor the advertising banners that are displayed to you. If you send us your postal address online you may receive occasional mailings from us with information on new products and services or upcoming events. If you would prefer not to receive these types of mailings, please write to signalingfeedback@nature.com. AdvertisementsAdvertisements on the Signaling Gateway are delivered by DoubleClick.
